The Albemarle Montessori Middle School is launching in August 2026, built from the ground up to support the unique needs of early adolescents. This program extends the school’s deeply rooted Montessori philosophy into a space that develops independence, self-awareness, purpose, and confidence—all while maintaining strong academic expectations and project-based learning.
This is more than a middle school. It is a transitional ecosystem designed to prepare your child not just for high school—but for life.
Scope & Sequence: Middle School
1. A Developmentally Tuned Environment
Middle school is when children begin shedding childhood and experimenting with early adulthood. They’re trying on identities, grappling with social dynamics, and learning who they are becoming.
The Montessori middle school environment acknowledges this internal revolution by meeting adolescents where they are:
Dedicated space, separate from younger children
